Carlsen on a Rampage at Nanjing 2009

GM Magnus Carlsen is on a rampage on the current Naning Super Chess Tournament. The young chess star is dominating the event by raking up points round per round. His conquest includes a win at the expense of the Hungarian star GM Peter Leko, World Championship match bound Veselin Topalov, and an endgame win against endgame specialist Dmitry Jakovenko. His only draw came after a a hard fought battle with the pride of host China, GM Wang Yue. More exciting details at the official site.

Standings after 4 rounds:

1. Carlsen, Magnus g NOR 2772 3½
2-3. Wang Yue g CHN 2736 2
2-3. Radjabov, Teimour g AZE 2757 2
4-6. Jakovenko, Dmitry g RUS 2742 1½
4-6. Leko, Peter g HUN 2762 1½
4-6. Topalov, Veselin g BUL 2813 1½

No doubt that Kasparov's coaching has tremendous influence on Magnus play. Its exciting to see the new Magnus Carlsen and see how far his new mentor will take him to the top. i guess the question is, not will he become number 1 but rather when and how soon :) Im a fan of magnus and wish him all the best. Here is a video on the Big K himself on his coaching stint with MC. credits to
