Once again, Filipinos will have a shot in participating a FIDE rated event and will be held this coming the September 24 - 20, 2009 at the Duty Free Fiestamall, Paranaque City. Dubbed as the . Pres. GLORIA MACAPAGAL ARROYO Chess Challenge, this will be again an exciting event as Filipinos all over the country are just aching to pit their skills and get the chance to be FIDE rated chess players.
Top 10 players will take home Php 143,000.00 in cash prizes with the champion taking the biggest pie of P 50,000.00 and a trophy. second & 3rd placers will also receive Php 30,000 and Php 20,000 respectively, also with trophies
