A few hours from now, SPICE CUP 2009 will resume hostilities. Hammer, Kuzubov, and Adreikin are at the helm with 2.5 points followed by Mamedov with 2 points, Wesley So at 1.5 points and Akobian with 1 point. Round 5 pairings will be a make or break round as the leaders are paired with the bottom half of the field. A win by the leaders would cause a break-away and hold a firm grip on the lead. It is also a good chance for the bottom half to catch up and ear a ticket at the top spot.
